Billings Makes Monkeys Miss
The Lamigo Monkeys didn’t have an answer to Lions pitcher Bruce Billings in game one of today's doubleheader. The longtime minor league standout was in charge all afternoon, finishing with 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K throwing 92 pitches in total.
With Billings’ ability to keep runs off the scoreboard, except for a solo home run from Wang Bo Jung in the 6th, the Lions offense did its part with single runs in the first and fourth innings. Lions relievers No.19 Guo Heng Xiao and No. 41 Wang Ching Ming would shut the door in the final innings to help secure the 2-1 Lions win and assist in Billings’ first CPBL win.
Lamigo pitcher No 41, Wang Yao Lin was the tough luck loser on the day allowing only two runs (1 ER) and five hits through six solid innings. The teams will take a short break and get ready for game two of the doubleheader scheduled for 5:05 in Chiayi.
