Diamond Defenders: April 19-24

Home runs are exciting but a good defense can make or break even the best of ball teams. Here is this week’s collection of “nice plays”

Monkeys No. 1 Yeh Chu Hsuan ranges to his right and throws across his body in what might be one of 2016’s best Diamond Defenders.

Here Yeh Chu Hsuan makes a great stop and throws out the runner while spinning on the ground.

The middle of the Monkeys infield impresses with this little dandy. Mr. Yeh is one fine athlete. No. 6 Lin Cheng Fei ain’t no slouch either.

Lions No. 13 Chen Ying Chi mimics Yeh Chu Hsuan as he makes a jumping throw to save a run and record the third out.

2015 MVP No. 32 Lin Chih Sheng shows off his defensive skills on this sweet grab.

Slick little catch and spin form EDA No. 51 Yu Mong Xiong

Blunders and Bobbles

Just how Brothers’ Chiang Chih Hsien drew up this 5-1-4 put out.

April 19: the day defense left town

Lions No. 69 Lin Chih Hsiang needs to be stretchered off after a routine warm-up goes wrong.

Lions catcher No. 2 Guo Jun Wei wishes there were less than two outs on this infield pop fly.

Lions No. 4 Wu Kuo Hao had a tough day to say the least. Still more to come.

Brothers No. 96 Su Wei Da getting involved.

Lions No. 4 Wu Kuo Hao puts the nail in the coffin as he loses the game in the bottom of the ninth on this throw, fittingly.

On the bright side, the rookie out of high school did hit his first career CPBL home run in the game.
