Box Score & Game Highlights

Game Notes:
  • The Rhinos got to Lamigo starter Ryan Searle early thanks to a Lin Che Hsuan "RBI triple" (see video above) in the top of the first. They would add two more in the frame and two more in the fourth. The Monkeys made things interesting in the eighth, cutting the Rhinos lead to three and bringing the tying run to the plate, but Rhinos reliever No.17 Chang Keng Hao would record the next two outs and end the threat.
  • Rhinos starter Mike Loree is undefeated versus the Monkeys this season in four starts. He has allowed just three earned runs in his last 21.2 innings against Lamigo and given up 17 hits. He currently leads the league in wins (7), strikeouts (63) and ERA (3.31).
  • Lamigo starter Ryan Searle, who had allowed 13 earned runs in 9.1 innings over his last two starts coming into tonight's game, gave up five more in five innings. After winning three games in a row beginning on April 20, the right-hander has gone winless in his last four starts.
  • Stud rookie outfielder No. 9 Wang Po Jung came into this game leading the league in hits (71), batting average (.408) and stolen bases (10). He is also on an eight-game hitting streak and is 11-for-17 in his last four contests.
  • Monkeys No. 21 Kuo Yen Wen, who hadn't played a game all season, returned to the lineup and went 1-for-5.
  • Rhinos OF Kao Kuo Hui hit his 14th homer of the year and now trails the injured Chiang Chih Hsien (Chinatrust Brothers) by one for the league lead.
  • Monkeys Lin Zhi Ping has a 12-game hit streak on the go.
  • Monkeys No. 29 Chen Chun Hsiu hit nine homers in his first 16 games of the year. Since then, he has just one over his last 18 matches.
  • Rhinos No. 1 Lin Che Hsuan returned to the lineup after he was forced to exit Tuesday's game when he took a pitch off the arm. He finished the day 2-for-3 and captured the game's MVP. He has played in every game so far in 2016.
  • Rhinos OF/DH No. 15 Hu Chin Lung hasn't played since May 7 due to a hand injury.
  • Lamigo has allowed at least one run in 94 consecutive games (most in CPBL history).
  • EDA leads the season series 13-3 and the Rhinos are 6-1 vs. the Monkeys in their last seven contests. The men in purple are also on a four-game winning streak and are just 1.5 games behind the Brothers for first place.
