Game Notes:
  • Rhinos starter No. 4 Jared Lansford struck out four batters in the first inning thanks to a wild pitch, but he also allowed a three-run opposite-field homer to Kao Kuo Ching before the inning was over. Overall, he gave up a pair of home runs and five total runs in the loss but managed to strike out nine batters. 
  • Lions starter No. 10 Liao Wen Yang gave up a lead-off homer to Lin Wei Ting to start the game and another solo shot to Luo Guo Lin in the sixth but did enough to get the win, including striking out seven while walking just one. 
  • MVP Kao Kuo Ching became only the fourth CPBL player to reach 700 RBIs after his three-run homer in the first. He is also on a nine-game hit streak. 
  • Rhinos No. 59 Luo Kuo Lin has an eight-game hit streak and is 8-for-19 in his last five contests. He injured himself during his first at-bat in Game 2 of yesterday's doubleheader and was replaced, but started today's game at DH and finished 1-4 with a home run. 
  • Lions No. 13 Chen Yung Chi, who in last night's 15-8 win went 4-for-6 including six RBI and a home run, finished today 0-4 with two strikeouts. He has 22 RBI in his last 11 contests vs. EDA. 
  • Rhinos CF No. 1 Lin Che Hsuan did not start today after playing both games of the doubleheader yesterday, but pinch hit in the bottom of the seventh and drew a walk. Lin has played in every game this year. 
  • The season series is tied 8-8.
  • The men in purple are still 1.5 games behind the Brothers for first place after the Brothers lost to the Monkeys tonight.
