  • Monkeys SP Efrain Nieves was cruising through his first four innings, putting zeros on the board until a four-run fifth finished his night. The four runs would be good enough for the Monkeys as the offense picked up Nieves and dominated the Lions pitchers, including a six-run first inning. The Monkeys pounded out 14 runs on 17 hits, snapping the Lions' six-game winning streak and pullling within a game of their opponent for first place.
  • Lions starting pitcher and 2015 first-round pick Lin Tzu Wei gave up six runs in the first inning alone in what was a night to forget for the young lefty. All six runs were scored after Lin retired the first two batters he faced.
  • After tonight's 3-for-5 performance, Wang Po Jung has pushed his batting average to a league-best .401.
  • Monkeys SP Efrain Nieves has started seven CPBL games and has factored into the decision in each of them.
  • Every Lions pitcher that saw action tonight allowed at least two runs.
  • Monkeys RF Yang Yao Hsun has a nine-game hit streak.
  • The Monkeys lead the season series 14-13.
