Nick Additon makes his CPBL debut this evening as the Chinatrust Brothers take on the EDA Rhinos. He takes the roster spot of Bruce Kern who was released yesterday after just two starts.
The 6'5", 215-pound native of Davie, Florida was signed by the Brothers earlier in August. He made just one start for the club's farm team, giving up two earned runs and eight hits over four innings, striking out three and walking two.
Additon (艾 迪 頓) is a 28-year-old lefty who was originally a 47th-round draft pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006. This season he was pitching for the Baltimore Orioles Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk before signing in Taiwan, where he posted a 1-10 record with the Tides. But a closer look at his stats reveals that he was perhaps a bit unlucky. In 80.1 innings this season, Additon posted a 3.81 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. He struck out 50, walked 23 and gave up 86 hits.
