Game Notes:
- With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth, the Brothers botched a double play when first baseman Hsu Chi Hung overstretched and missed the ball, allowing a run to score as the Rhinos took a 2-1 lead. They would then score seven more in the seventh to knot the series at two games apiece.
- In addition to his four hits, game MVP Lin Wei Ting made a couple of great plays in the field.
- Rhinos SP Huang Yi Chi was brilliant through five innings, giving up just five hits and one run in what was the Rhinos' best performance from a starting pitcher so far in the Taiwan Series.
- Every player in the Rhinos starting lineup had at least one hit as part of their 16-hit barrage.
- Rhinos 1B Lin Yi Chuan has a nine-game hit streak in the Taiwan Series.
- The Brothers made two errors tonight and now have four in the last two games, but the scorecard doesn't tell the whole story as they have made far more defensive mistakes than just the four official errors.
- Brothers SP Bryan Woodall was stellar on just three days rest but was saddled with the loss after the botched double-play attempt in the sixth.
- The best-of-seven series is tied 2-2. Game 5 goes Thursday, 6:35 p.m. in Taoyuan.

Brothers 3B Chiang's fielding is absolutely a joke, he have made several ridiculous gaffes at the hot corner in this series. I think Rhinos should have awarded him this game's MVP
ReplyDeleteHe's had a VERY rough series defensively. To be fair, a few of them he had no chance on but overall, it's been bad. But not just him. Hsu was 1b was responsible for the winning run scoring in Game 4 while Chang in CF and Wang at SS were brutal in Game 3 as well.

ReplyDeleteI usually do not follow with Chinese (or any else league, except of American). But once I decided to watch their games and was really pleased. They play really cool. And watching them is refreshing. Like, something new in your favorite game. And maybe is this the future of baseball? Non-American style?
