Game Notes:
- The EDA Rhinos are your 2016 Taiwan Series champions after an incredible late-game rally on Saturday. The Rhinos entered the top of the ninth trailing 3-1 and then took advantage of a complete Brothers meltdown to score three runs and take a 4-3 lead, scoring the winning run on an error from 1B No. 23 Peng Cheng Ming.
- in the bottom of the ninth, Rhinos CF Lin Che Hsuan made an incredible diving catch for the would-be third out, a play that had to be reviewed while the team celebrated and fans littered the field with purple streamers. The play was overturned and ruled a single, giving the Brothers another chance with a man on first. Rhinos RP Huang Sheng Hsiung then got Chang Chih Hao to ground out to end the game.
- Rhinos CF No. 1 Lin Che Hsuan was named Taiwan Series MVP. Second baseman No. 64 Lin Wei Ting was named the best fielder of the series.
- Rhinos SP Jared Lansford battled through five-plus innings after giving up three runs on the first three batters. His final line: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K.
- The Rhinos won the final four games of the series after going down 2-0 in Games 1 and 2.
- Rhinos 1B Lin Yi Chuan has an 11-game hit streak in the Taiwan Series as he drove in the Rhinos' first run with a double in the fourth.
- The Brothers started the game in a big way, with both Chang Cheng Wei and Chang Chih Hao recording singles before Chiang's three-run home run, meaning the Brothers had a 3-0 lead before Rhinos SP Jared Lansford even recorded an out.
- Brothers SP Nick Additon turned in the best performance of his brief CPBL career, striking out nine over seven strong innings and exiting with a 3-1 lead. His nine strikeouts were a franchise record in the Taiwan Series.
- This is the first and last CPBL win for the EDA Rhinos, but third for the franchise (they won twice as the Sinon Bulls in 2004 and 2005). The team has already been sold to Fubon Financial, who will take over control in the coming days.
Attendance: 20,000
