Game Notes:
- Lin Chih-Sheng hit two home runs and Chen Tzu-Hao added one of his own as the Brothers jumped out to a 6-0 lead and got new manager Cory Snyder his first career CPBL win.
- The Guardians made a late charge in the eighth and ninth innings, with a bases-clearing double from No. 29 Yang Kuan-Wei. Then, in the ninth, CPBL home run king Kao Kuo-Hui represented the go-ahead run at the plate but had to be taken out of the game with a full count and two outs as he jammed his thumb while fouling off a pitch. The pinch-hitter then took ball four to draw a walk before Lin Wei-Ting flew out to deep right to end the game.
- The Brothers bullpen, a weak point last season, needed four pitchers to get through the final two innings. Overall, the bullpen gave up six hits, three walks and five earned runs over the final two frames.
- Brothers SP Cheng Kai-Wen held the Guardians off the scoreboard for seven innings, giving up six hits and striking out seven. Cheng is coming off of a shaky season which saw him bounce back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen.
- Guardians SP Scott Richmond was cruising through three innings until the Brothers got to him in the fourth and fifth. His final line included three earned runs off of six hits in 4.2 innings pitched.
