Chinatrust Brothers Sell Nick Additon to Lotte Giants

The Chinatrust Brothers have sold left-handed starting pitcher Nick Additon to the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), according to a press release from the club on Tuesday afternoon. Though the Brothers did not say which team Additon is going to, a source tells CPBL English that it is the Lotte Giants.

Additon has made just one start so far in the young CPBL season, going five innings and giving up four earned runs off of four hits. He also struck out eight while and walked four. He also pitched with the club in the second half of 2016, finishing with a 3-1 record and a 4.30 ERA in six starts.

The Lotte Giants were in need of a pitcher after releasing Parker Markel yesterday. They were rumored to be interested in acquiring a lefty, which is exactly what they got in Additon.

Additon will head to Korea immediately, while the Brothers will have a new import pitcher in Taiwan on Monday. There is no word as of yet who that pitcher will be.
