Game Notes:
- Lions OF Cheng Kai-Wen's solo home run off Nick Additon and a grand slam off Chen Hung-Wen would power the Lions to a convincing win over the Brothers. The Brothers are winless in their first two matches.
- Making his first ever CPBL start, Lions SP No. 44 Alfredo Figaro was cruising until a Chiang Chih-Hsien three-run home run chased him in the sixth. The former Brewer finished the day with 5.1 innings, five hits, four runs, a walk and four strikeouts.
- The Lions would pull away in the seventh inning with a three-run double from pinch hitter Tang Chao-Ting to make it a 9-4 Lions lead.
- The first five batters in the Lions line-up finished 11-for-23 and scored ten runs.
- Game MVP Cheng Kai-Wen set a new career high with his five RBIs.
- Brothers starter Nick Additon gave up four runs over his five innings of work. All the damage was done on two home runs. The lefty managed to strike out eight while walking four.
Attendance: 9,659
Not a good start for the Brothers into the new season and I hope things will turn better in days to come. Some may suggested the soggy surfaces but plenty of careless Es over the last two games which can be avoided.
ReplyDeleteDefense is always going to be a problem for them.
