Game Notes:

  • The Lions had no late-inning magic tonight versus the Monkeys as Lan Yin-Lun's three-run homer broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth and put the Monkeys ahead. Zack Segovia and the bullpen would blank the Lions through the final seven innings. The win puts the Monkeys 1.5 games ahead of the Lions for first place.
  • Monkeys starter Zack Segovia fired seven innings of two-run ball to collect his fourth win of the season. Segovia gave up six hits, walked none and struck out six in the quality start. The right-hander has now gone at least seven innings in five of his six starts this year.
  • Lions SP Bruce Billings gave up six runs - four earned - on 10 hits over six innings. The righty was plagued by some poor defending as the Lions committed three errors behind him. He walked one and struck out four. He also struck out his 200th CPBL batter in the loss.
  • Lamigo catcher Lin Hung-Yu was forced to leave the game early after a foul-tip struck his non-glove hand.
  • Lions rookie SS Chen Chieh-Hsien is on an 11-game hit streak. The leadoff hitter has scored 12 times over that stretch and collected nine multi-hit games. He finished 2-for-4 on the night, driving his average up to an impressive .372 and taking the outright league lead in runs scored with his 25th.
  • Coming off his first hitless contest in 18 games (0-for-1 with three BB), Wang Po-Jung went 2-for-5 and swiped his league-leading sixth base of the year. The reigning MVP is hitting .407 through 21 games.
  • Lamigo leads the season series 4-2.
