With the Dragon Boat Festival holiday over, let's recap some of the Taiwanese baseball action we missed over the weekend.
Chinatrust Brothers
The second-place Brothers were involved in a couple of pitching duels against the first-place Monkeys on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately for them, they were only able to take one game but still managed to win the series, two games to one.
Bryan Woodall continues to be as efficient as humanly possible as the right-hander threw a complete game (7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K) but had no run support and ended up picking up his third loss of the season in the 3-0 defeat.
On Sunday, it was former Monkey Orlando Roman who put up donuts as the CPBL veteran allowed just two hits over seven scoreless frames. The Brothers won 2-0, earning Roman his third win of the year.
Chiang Chih-Hsien went 1-for-8 over the two games and is hitting .364. He has seen his batting average fall from .397 since May 20.

Fubon Guardians
The Guardians also had their imports carry the pitching load over the weekend with Scott Richmond and Mike Loree both picking up wins with solid performances.
Richmond turned in his best start of the year throwing seven innings in a 5-2 win over the Lions. The Canadian allowed just one run -- a solo home run to Cheng Kai-Wen in the seventh -- with eight hits and seven strikeouts.
Loree would perform the encore on Sunday in another MVP-winning outing (7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K). The Guardians won 8-5, earning Loree his 50th CPBL victory, 20th in league history in the category. Loree has been toying with the Lions all season and hasn't allowed them to score a run in 22 straight innings, dating back to April 16.
Lin Yi-Chuan went 4-for-5 on Sunday while adding his sixth home run of the year. He is leading the club in batting average with his mark of .352.
Center fielder Lin Che-Hsuan took a pitch to the hand on Sunday and had to be removed. He also had to sit out today's matchup as well. 2016 first-round pick Shen Hao-Wei is taking the open spot in center field in Lin's absence.

Lamigo Monkeys
LHP Darin Downs remained perfect in a 3-0 win on Saturday. Downs (8 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K) moved to 6-0 on the year after Wang Po-Jung’s seventh-inning solo home run broke a 0-0 tie.
Wang Yi-Cheng was the tough-luck loser on Sunday as his six innings of two-run ball weren't enough to best the Brothers who won 2-0. Wang struck out eight batters and has thrown five straight quality starts.
The Monkeys magic number for the first-half championship is now 11.
Uni Lions
The Lions lost both games on Saturday and Sunday and now sit at 20-24-1 on the year, 9.5 games out of first. They only managed to get 145 pitches from their pair of starting pitchers over the weekend.
On a bright note for the Lions, 2016 first-overall pick Su Chih-Chieh has gotten his average up to over .400 after going 4-for-8 over the break. He has eight multi-hit games over his last 10 contests.
Cheng Kai-Wen launched home run number eight during his 22nd game, but his average still sits under .200.
