Game Notes:
- Another day, another loss for the Lions. This time, they brought in starting pitcher Alfredo Figaro from the bullpen for the seventh inning with the score knotted at one to poor results. In his first relief appearance of the season, Figaro gave up five hits that yielded four runs—three earned—with all the damage coming in the seventh. The inning was highlighted by a Feng Ke-Wei go-ahead single and a pair of Kao Kuo-Lin and Chang Yung-Han RBI. The win puts the Guardians' streak at four games, a season high.
- Guardians SP Scott Richmond struck out double-digit batters for the first time in his CPBL career in tonight's no-decision. The right-hander whiffed 11 across 6.2 innings while allowing just one run on six hits and a walk. The veteran has now given up five runs in his last three starts vs the Lions, good for a 2-0 record and a 2.29 ERA.
- Lions SP Pan Wei-Lun got no support offensively despite throwing six innings of one-run ball. The Guardians mustered just four hits off Pan with one being MVP Chang Yang-Han's solo home run that led off the sixth.
- LLLLLLWTLLLLLLL. That's what the Lions rough patch looks like as they have lost seven in a row and are 1-13-1 in their last 15. Since 2009, when the league adopted a 120-game schedule, the Lions lowest win total in half a season is 23, set in 2015. Their current winning percentage has not been this low since 2002. The mid-season break can't get here soon enough for the Lions.
- The Guardians now lead the season series 11-8.

Hard to believe that Alfredo Figaro's CPBL will last into the second half. Bring on Josh Lowey!
