Game Notes:
- Monkeys RF Lan Yin-Lun was given a chance to play as some regulars rested and boy, did he deliver. Lan led off the top of the ninth with a triple and scored the winning run as the Monkeys edged the Lions 9-7. Lan also hit a three-run home run and made this beautiful catch.
- The Lions just keep finding new ways to lose. Tonight, they gave up their 7-6 lead with a botched double play and then missed a go-ahead home run in the eighth by a foot or two before blowing it in the ninth.
- Lamigo needs four wins in its final five games to break the record for best half in a CPBL season.
- Monkeys CF Chan Chih-Yao hit his eighth home run which is already a career high for the nine-year veteran who played in his 800th career game tonight.
- Lions import Terance Marin made his CPBL debut pitching out of the bullpen. His line: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K. Both the runs came around to score after Marin had left the game.
- The Monkeys fielded a lineup that was without their usual heart of the order as Wang Po-Jung, Lin Hung-Yu, Chen Chun-Hsiu and Kuo Yen-Wen all rested.
- The Lions have lost six in a row and are 1-12-1 in their last 14.
- The Monkeys lead the season series 17-3.
