Game Notes:

  • The Guardians got to Zeke Spruill for two runs in the third inning and that was all that Scott Richmond and the bullpen would need as the Guardians won their third straight.
  • Fubon added five insurance runs in the seventh, most of the damage coming on a three-run home run—the first of his career—from rookie Chen Ping-Chieh. The second-round pick in the 2017 draft is hitting .319 through 12 games as the Guardians' leadoff man.
  • Richmond brought his A-game tonight in shutting down the first-half champs, allowing just one run on six hits over 6.1 innings pitched. He struck out four and walked one.
  • Fubon 1B Lin Yi-Chuan is on fire at the moment with 12 hits in his last five games, including three tonight.
  • This is only the third time all season that the Guardians have had a winning streak of three or more games.
  • The Monkeys have dropped three straight for the first time all season.
