Game Notes:
- Lions rookie SS Chen Chieh-Hsien's three hits and Pan Wu-Hsiung's two home runs powered the first-place Lions to a victory Thursday night to split the two-game set with the Fubon Guardians and help the club reach the 20-win mark in the second half-season.
- For the 16th time this season, Chen Chieh-Hsien collected three hits to raise his league-leading batting average to a cool .411. He also scored twice and knocked in three more.
- Lions starter Liao Wen-Yang needed 89 pitches to get through 4.1 innings tonight. The Taiwanese right-hander did his job, though, as he yielded three runs on seven hits and a pair of walks. His record stands at 5-5 on the season with a 5.10 ERA.
- The Lions broke open the scoring in the third inning, getting to Guardians SP Scott Richmond for four runs. The inning was highlighted by a Chen Chieh-Hsien two-run double that made it 3-0.
- Since returning from a minor hand injury that sidelined him for one game, Fubon's Lin Yi-Chuan is 7-for-12 over his last three contests which included a three-hit performance in tonight's losing effort.
