Game Notes:
- Lions 1B Mai Jia-Yi cracked a huge hit with the bases loaded in the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter, turning a 1-2 deficit into a 3-2 lead, securing a very important win for the Lions and avoiding being stuck in a 0-3 series hole. Mai wasn't a main factor for the team during the regular season, most of the time staying on the second team, but he has been amazing in the postseason, hitting .625 and reaching base in all six postseason games.
- Monkeys RF Lan Yin-Lun bombed a solo-homerun in the fifth inning, his second one of the Series. He has performed well in past Taiwan Series with a .385 AVG last year proving that he is a strong and stable key player.
- Lion SP Josh Roenicke, who owned the lowest ERA this season, finished a quality start tonight as the pitcher extended his success into the postseason, giving up only two earned runs in six innings and giving his team a chance to win.
- Lions RP Andy Van Hekken won his second game in the postseason. Due to a lack of results in the regular season, he was placed in the bullpen in the postseason; however, he has unexpectedly exerted his rich experience and played a great hero in two comeback victories.
- Monkeys closer Chen Yu-Hsun, hit by a comebacker last night and unavailable in Game 2, caused the bullpen to be in a mess, allowing the Lions to score in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.
