Game Notes:

• Lions SP Chiang Chen-Yen was not stable in a three-run first inning, giving up three hits and two walks, including a solo home run to Monkeys CF Wang Po-Jung. But the Lions were not to be taken lightly. They scored efficiently and a critical double hit by Pan Yen-Ting in the bottom of the first gave them a 4-3 lead.

• Neither teams' starter performed well today. Lions SP Chiang Chen-Yen only pitched one inning with 39 pitches while the Monkeys' Zeke Spruill gave up six earned runs in 3.1 innings.

• Monkeys base runners were tagged out at home plate in both the second and fourth innings. However, with the Lions RP Shi Zi-Qian keeping the Monkeys off the board, the Lions were able to score in the fourth and fifth innings, expanding their lead to four runs.

• In the top of the eighth, the Monkeys broke their silence with a Lan Yin-Lun ground ball that brought the Monkeys within one run of the Lions. However, the Lions got those runs back. Kuo Fu-Lin was hit by a pitch, Pan Yen-Ting tripled, and an error made by Monkeys 2B Kuo Yen-Wen added two runs and making the final score 10-4. 

• The Uni Lions won their second straight and now the Taiwan Series is tied at 2-2. The Monkeys are under pressure as the Lions ride their hot hand. Game 4 is tonight and with two main Monkeys players, Chen Yu-Hsun and Liu Shih-Hao, injured, how they fill that void is a hot topic for the Monkeys.
